Published on May 6, 2009 under Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Richmond, VA: Week 8 had everything that football fans could dream of in terms of excitement. A game ending on the very last play, a thrilling come from behind victory, and a kicker entering the record books accentuated what was a memorable slate of IFL action. There were many fine candidates for the VidSwap.com Player's of the Week, but these three young men truly stood out with their individual play. Reminder that the IFL has partnered with VidSwap.com to allow fans to view the highlights that made these athletes our Players of the Week. Visit www.GoIFL.com.

WEEK EIGHT OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -QB DIXIE WOOTEN/RIVERCITY RAGE

The Rivercity Rage have been on a tear of late, and most of the reasoning can be attributed to their stellar Quarterback play. Wooten gave the home crowd a thrill against the Sioux City Bandits as he found the hands of his receivers with ease. He picked apart the Bandits defense for seven touchdown passes on 22 of 34 passing and 282 yards. He also added a ten yard rushing touchdown to complete his night. Wooten has made the Rage the team to beat in the United Conference.

WEEK EIGHT DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -DB JAVON JACKSON/ BILLINGS OUTLAWS

The Billings Outlaws have been known all season as one of the top offensive teams in the league. Defensive back Javon Jackson wants the rest of the Indoor Football League to know that the defense is a force to be reckoned with as well. They forced Week Seven Offensive Player of the Week Justin Rummell to throw four interceptions, with Jackson nabbing three of them himself. He totaled 81 INT return yards, which set up excellent field position for his offense, and added 5 tackles to finish the night.

WEEK EIGHT SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK-K SCOTT GREENE/MUSKEGON THUNDER

Not only did the Thunder record their first notch in the win column, but one of their players set a new IFL record that may stand for a long time to come. Kicker Scott Greene converted SEVEN of eight field goal opportunities, marking the most FG's ever in one IFL game. All of his field goals were in the 18-38 yard range with his only miss coming on a 54 yards attempt. He also made both of his extra point attempts. In all, Greene accounted for 23 of his teams 34 points and propelled Muskegon to their first victory of the season.

The season resumes Friday night, May 8, with Maryland invading Saginaw for the first of eight weekend match-ups that are sure to be instant IFL classics. Kickoff is slated for 7:05pm. Follow all the action at www.goifl.com and on the B2 broadcasts www.b2livetv.com of each game all season long.
