Reading Express News Release
Reading, Pa. (November 10, 2011) - The Reading Express have landed what many may concerned a top recruit heading into the 2012 season. Josh Floyd, the IFL's leader in all-purpose yards in 2011, will showcase his talent with the Express next season.
Floyd spent the 2011 season with the West Texas Roughnecks. He tallied a remarkable 1,906 yards of total offense, almost 300 yards more than the next player. Floyd also found the end zone for 19 touchdowns. He was an all-purpose player, but excelled at the wide receiver position. Floyd caught 64 passes for 756 receiving yards. He also returned 50 kicks for 969 yards. He added 181 yards on the ground on 25 carries.
"Adding a talent like Josh is truly exceptional for our organization," said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "Josh is a multi-talented player who can do so many things for our team. His return ability makes it much easier for an offense to score points when they are starting on the opposition's side of the field consistently."
Floyd is a graduate of Chowan University, where he played quarterback.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
