IceRays sign duo of players

Corpus Christi IceRays News Release


The Corpus Christi IceRays announced two more key signings for the 2008/2009 hockey season. Goalie Kris Tebbs and Rookie Jeff Grant were signed and will be great additions for the team. Tebbs bounced around last year between the Alaska Aces, Mississippi River King and Texas Wildcatters. His stats at Texas were unbelievable. He was 11-3-2 in 16 games with a save percentage of .923. Jeff Grant a true rookie out of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was a league scoring leader while there.

Pat Dunn, General manager said, "We know we started this process late because of the timing of the team being sold, but we are doing all we can to make up time. We have taken our time even being behind because we want players who will help us win and win now. These two players are yet again testament to Coach Cloutier's abilities to recruit high quality impact players. Kris Tebbs is a great first team goalie and Jeff Grant will impress fans with his youth and ability to score.

Kris Tebbs said, "I love playing in Texas. The Corpus Christi ownership seems to be in solid hands and I look forward to playing for Coach Cloutier. I think you will see more and more quality players come to Corpus Christi now. When we add winning to the solid ownership group, Corpus Christi will be the place to be for hockey."

Brent Chesney, VP and General counsel said, "The fans will love the toughness of Kris Tebbs. This guy can stop the puck. When you have a save percentage like Tebbs had at Texas, you know you have a keeper. We feel Jeff Grant, even as a rookie will have immediate impact. He can score and we need players right now who can score. This is another great move by Dunn and Cloutier."
