
IceRays Crush Tornado 6-1

FRISCO, TX - The Corpus Christi IceRays started off 2012 with a 6-1 win, powered by a pair of goals from AJ Jarosz, Beau Walker, and Joe Ginley on Thursday night inside Dr. Pepper Arena.
The IceRays started the scoring just 2:55 into the game as Frank Misuraca hit AJ Jarosz with a breakaway pass and Jarosz converted, beating Joakim Jutras for a 1-0 lead.
There was no scoring until 9:50 in the first frame when Beau Walker tapped a loose puck in past Jutras for his fifth goal of the year and a 2-0 advantage.
Joe Ginley picked up his first goal of the night with 6:36 left to go in the opening period on an off angle caught Jutras off guard sneaking the puck in giving the IceRays a 3-0 lead.
Joakim Jutras was replaced in net after the third goal by Reid Mimmack.
Corpus Christi did not stop there, Beau Walker took a pass off the stick of Michael Dery after an interception, cut in front of the net and beat Mimmack to increase the lead 4-0.
The IceRays led 4-0 after the first period and tacked on another goal in the middle period. Chris Taff pinched up intercepting a pass, went in on an odd man rush, feeding Joe Ginley who tapped in his second goal of the game to give Corpus Christi a 5-0 lead.
Heading into the third period, the IceRays led 5-0 however Taylor Herndon beat Anthony Stolarz on a breakaway to get Texas on the board 5-1 with 13:13 left in regulation.
AJ Jarosz notched a power-play goal with 0:44 seconds left in the game to regain the five goal lead.
Michael Dery extended his point streak to six games with two assists tonight. Anthony Stolarz stopped 29 of 30 shots in the win.
The IceRays now head to Amarillo to face-off against the Bulls tomorrow and Saturday night. Puck drops at 7:00PM, coverage begins at 6:45PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
