Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN.--- With their second training camp as members of the AA / Central Hockey League a mere weeks henceforth, the Evansville IceMen continue to apply more than a few finishing touches to their 2011-12 training camp roster.

The IceMen roster has now grown to 24-players with the announcement on this date of the signing of two newcomers assenting to terms under an official CHL Tryout Agreement with the Evansville club. The two newest members of the IceMen training camp cast are goaltender JONATHAN WILLUMSEN and center ZACH TATRN. Both players will be reporting to the IceMen training camp on October 9th at Swonder Ice Arena in Evansville.

WILLUMSEN, 22, will be embarking on his first professional campaign overall, having sculpted his craft of human puck barricading and puck detouring overseas throughout the preponderance of his career. The slight 5-9, 172lb netminder hails from Gentofte, Denmark where he has performed throughout his career at this juncture. Last season, in 2010-11, Evansville's newest goalkeeper registered a 3.90 GAA in 26-games for Gladsaxe in the Denmark2 circuit. He has played for the past seven seasons for his native land, predominantly in the Denmark2 league.

TATRN (TAT-rin), 20, also will be commencing his initial pro campaign, arriving on the Evansville hockey landscape following a solid four-year career in the highly-prestigious major junior `A' OHL where he learned under the auspices of the tradition-steeped Peterborough Petes franchise. The strong-sized 6-2, 215lb centerman brings 172-games of OHL experience to the Tri-State pro hockey region. In 2010-11 with the Peterborough club, the right-hand shooting American-bred from Lower Burrell, PA engineered 15-points in 62-games on 6-goals, 9-assists while adding 11-PIM.

Today's Tryout Agreement signings of goaltender JONATHAN WILLUMSEN and center ZACH TATRN, increases the IceMen current roster to 24-players with 8 of those representing holdovers from last season's maiden voyage AA/CHL season. Presently, Evansville has signed: 3-goaltenders: BRIAN GILLIS, PIER-OLIVIER PELLETIER, JONATHAN WILLUMSEN; 8-defensemen: MATT GENS, ADAM KNOPP, JORDAN LITTLE, STEVE MAKWAY, JAKE OBERMEYER, PHILIPPE PLANTE, ATTE RAJAJARVI, NICK SCHNEIDER; 4-left wings: JOSH BEAULIEU, MARK CODY, MATT PIERCE, MIKE SGROI; 5-centers: BRIAN BICEK, NICKLAS LINDBERG, TODD ROBINSON, BRAD SMULDERS, ZACH TATRN; 4-right wings: DUSTIN JOHNSON, SEAN O'CONNOR, JOHN RONAN, MATT SCHMERMUND.
