Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVVILLE, IN.--- Action is abounding about the camp of Evansville's pro hockey franchise at this hour of the late summer off-season and with it comes much eager anticipation for the rapidly approaching 2011-12 season and the IceMen franchise move into the lavish confines of the new state-of-the-art Ford Center, downtown Evansville.

With such excitement building by the day, the IceMen have announced on this date their 2011-12 CHL Pre-Season game schedule which will serve as a significant tune-up for the club's second season of AA/CHL membership status.

The IceMen have scheduled two pre-season contests with both games listed as foreign ice affairs. Under the auspices of second-year General Manager/Coach Rich Kromm, the IceMen will travel to the Quad Cities for a Saturday 4:00 pm matinee clash against the rivals Mallards on October 15th before journeying the following afternoon, Sunday, October 16th, to Bloomington, IL where they will be hosted by the revamped and re-named Blaze in a 3:00 pm bout.

Both Quad City and Bloomington have become natural rivals of the IceMen due to geographic proximity of the cities as well as the fact that all three of the teams continue as members of the Central Hockey League's Turner Conference.

The IceMen two pre-season games will be broadcast on the newly-formed and newly-minted "Evansville IceMen Radio Network," spearheaded by the exclusive radio flagship home of WEOA-AM 1400 in Evansville and joined by network affiliate Fox Sports Radio WMSK-AM 1550 in Morganfield, Kentucky. Broadcast times will be one-half hour before the opening face-off for all IceMen games this season.

2011-12 EVANSVILLE ICEMEN PRE-SEASON GAME SCHEDULE:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15TH AT QUAD CITY 4:00 PM

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16TH AT BLOOMINGTON 3:00 PM
