September 15, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL)
Louisiana IceGators News Release
The Louisiana IceGators are pleased to announce the signing of four year pro David Simoes. The 5'10" 205lb Defenseman has spent his entire career in the Central Hockey League. During his time in the CHL Simoes was voted, by his peers, the toughest player three years in a row. The Vanderhoof, BC native has made stops in New Mexico, Youngstown, Mississippi, Allen, and Rapid city.
David Simoes is definitely no stranger to IceGators Head Coach Kevin Kaminski, who coached him with the Youngstown Steelhounds and the Mississippi RiverKings. "Simmer brings a wealth of experience. He is as solid as they come, but the thing you are going to like about this kid is his leadership. David's work ethic, heart, passion on and off the ice will be quite evident to the fans here in Acadiana. He is great in the community and will be a fan favorite in no time." Quoted Kaminski.
