The Louisiana IceGators have started the week off with a bang!  Head Coach Drew Omicioli announced this morning that forward Jake Hauswirth has re-signed for the 2015-2016 season.

The 6'5" forward scored 21 goals and had 22 assists in only 37 games with the Gators last season. Jake signed in December, as a free agent, after spending time in the ECHL with the Rapid City Rush.  In 16 games with the Rush he posted 1 goal and added 3 assists.

Going into his seventh season as a pro Hauswirth is now a veteran in the SPHL.  The IceGators will be relying upon Jake to be an offensive force for the 2015-2016 season. "Jake came in and proved that he can be one of the top forwards and offensive threats in the SPHL," said Coach Drew Omicioli. "He is a natural leader on and off the ice and has the ability to score huge goals in key times.  Jake has the potential to be an MVP type of player for the team and is a large piece of the puzzle that we will need to win a championship.  I am excited to see what he will do in a full 56 games for the IceGator organization."

Stay tuned Gator fans, things are getting interesting!  With the signings announced so far this summer we cannot wait to see the rest of the lineup.  Mark your calendars for the home opener on November 5th at 7:05 in the Cajundome.  Season tickets are now on sale.  Individual game tickets will go on sale in September.
