August 10, 2015 - SPHL (SPHL)
Louisiana IceGators News Release
The Louisiana IceGators have started the week off with a bang! Â Head Coach Drew Omicioli announced this morning that forward Jake Hauswirth has re-signed for the 2015-2016 season.
The 6'5" forward scored 21 goals and had 22 assists in only 37 games with the Gators last season. Jake signed in December, as a free agent, after spending time in the ECHL with the Rapid City Rush. Â In 16 games with the Rush he posted 1 goal and added 3 assists.
Going into his seventh season as a pro Hauswirth is now a veteran in the SPHL. Â The IceGators will be relying upon Jake to be an offensive force for the 2015-2016 season. "Jake came in and proved that he can be one of the top forwards and offensive threats in the SPHL," said Coach Drew Omicioli. "He is a natural leader on and off the ice and has the ability to score huge goals in key times. Â Jake has the potential to be an MVP type of player for the team and is a large piece of the puzzle that we will need to win a championship. Â I am excited to see what he will do in a full 56 games for the IceGator organization."
Stay tuned Gator fans, things are getting interesting! Â With the signings announced so far this summer we cannot wait to see the rest of the lineup. Â Mark your calendars for the home opener on November 5th at 7:05 in the Cajundome. Â Season tickets are now on sale. Â Individual game tickets will go on sale in September.
