IceGators announce Mascot Naming Contest Winner

Lafayette, LA. September 11, 2009. The Louisiana IceGators unveiled the name of the team's new mascot, InstaGator, Friday at a pep rally for Prairie Elementary. After a citywide contest to name the newest member of the IceGators team, the name InstaGator was a popular choice among fans. All InstaGator votes had to be entered into a second round where a random drawing decided who would win the season tickets. Kevin Cooper was the lucky contest winner winning two season tickets for his entry.
