IceDogs Fall to Steelheads 4-0
February 23, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs were on the road Friday night, in Mississauga, to continue their 3 games in 3 days weekend.Coming off a slump ending 4-1 win last night at home against the Saginaw Spirit, the 'Dogs were looking to continue what worked for them last night against their Central Division rivals, the Steelheads. The Steelheads also came into tonight's game following a win against the Barrie Colts last night.
The Steelheads jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period. In the second period, they added a powerplay goal. The 'Dogs seemed to settle into their systems in the second period and started throwing everything on net, but they couldn't beat Vella, the Steelheads' goaltender. Earlier in the same powerplay, Stevie Dhillon made a highlight reel glove save to keep his teammates within two, but couldn't stop Tippett just a few seconds later.
The game started to get physical in the third period, which hindered the 'Dogs comeback. The Steelheads scored a powerplay goal with two to play in the third period.
The IceDogs dropped this one in Mississauga 4-0.
The IceDogs are back in action tomorrow night as the North Bay Battalion pay a visit to the Meridian Centre.
Tickets are still available for our next home game, Saturday, February 24th against the North Bay Battalion. Saturday's game is presented by Collins Nissan.
