HAMILTON, ONTARIO. There was a playoff atmosphere in Kingston Friday night as the Hamilton Bulldogs pulled out a 2-1 overtime win over the Frontenacs.

The Bulldogs thought they had opened up the scoring, but a goal from Arthur Kaliyev was waived off after video review determined the play was off-side.

The Frontenacs took a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd period with the Bulldogs responding just over five minutes later as Matthew Strome (33) showed off his stick handling skills to tie the game.

There was no scoring in the 3rd period, but Hamilton got a power-play late that carried over into OT and Brandon Saigeon (32) bounced one in off a Kingston defender at 1:19 for the 2-1 win. For Saigeon, it was his league leading 9th game winning goal and pulls him into a tie for the league lead with his 15th power-play goal.

The Bulldogs finished the season series with the Frontenacs with a record of 4-1-0-1 and increase their lead atop the East Division and Eastern Conference to 5-points.

3 STARS:1) Brandon Saigeon (HAM) 2) Matthew Strome (HAM) 3) Jeremy Helvig (KGN)

Hamilton returns home to host the Sudbury Wolves Saturday night at FirstOntario Centre at 7 pm and then the North Bay Battalion are in Sunday for a 2 pm matinee.
