Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs fell to the visiting London Knights by a score of 7-3 tonight at the Gatorade Garden City Complex.
The IceDogs got off to a tough start allowing four quick goals to fall behind 4-0 after one period of play. Gallardi started the game allowing the first two goals, before being replaced by Jaroslav Pavelka who went the rest of the way.
The second period was much better for the IceDogs, as they stormed back with three straight powerplay goals from Steven Shipley, David Pacan and Dougie Hamilton, to close the lead to 4-3. London would add a late goal however to make it 5-3 after two.
The IceDogs however could not finish the comeback in the third, allowing a pair of late goals to make it a 7-3 final in favour of the visitors.
Steven Shipley led the attack for the IceDogs with a goal and two assists, as the IceDogs actually outshot London 43-31.
The IceDogs did get some good news prior to the game, as they found out that Alex Friesen has been returned to Niagara from Chicago Wolves training camp and he will join the team on their road trip this weekend.
