IceDiggers return home for pair of games

Alpena IceDiggers News Release


The Alpena IceDiggers will return home this upcoming weekend for a pair of games at Northern Lights Arena.

The IceDiggers face the Springfield, Jr. Blues of the NAHL's South Division this Friday and Saturday, February 10th and 11th at 7:00 p.m.

The two teams split victories at the NAHL showcase in January in Youngstown Ohio. Springfield took the first game by a score of 6-4, Alpena came back the next night and scored a season high seven goals in 7-4 rout.

Alpena has not played since January 29th when they fell to the Cleveland Barons by a score of 6-3. Springfield hosted Youngstown last weekend and dropped both contests being outscored 12-3 in two games.

IceDiggers coach Kenny Miller knows how important it is to get on a winning streak if Alpena plans on competing in the NAHL playoff's. "In order for us to make the playoff's we must get on a roll and string a few wins together, with Springfield coming to town it will not be easy but we will be up to the challenge." Stated Miller.

The Alpena IceDiggers will wear special event NASCAR jerseys on Friday, February 17th when they play host to the Traverse City North Stars face off is set for 7:00pm.
