
IceDiggers open home schedule Friday vs. Marquette

Let's Get it On: The IceDiggers will kick off the 2006-07 home regular season this Friday, Sept. 22 by hosting the Marquette Rangers at 7:00 p.m. at Northern Lights Arena. Alpena will play both In-State rivals Traverse City and Marquette a total of 28 times this season combined.
Get Your Tickets: Individual tickets for all 2006-07 home games are on sale at the IceDiggers office inside Northern Lights Arena (989)356-9812, Ticket prices are $9 Adults and $7 for Seniors and Students. Season tickets are still available by contacting the IceDiggers main office.
At the Helm: IceDiggers Vice President & General Manager Bob Krafft begins his 1st season with the club, Krafft will handle all business operations for the club. Kenny Miller will enter his 2nd season as Head Coach, Miller will be responsible for the hockey operations department.
Leader of the Pack: Kenny Miller along with assistant coaches Denny Dacey and Dave Dziubenski will try to lead the IceDiggers to the playoff's for the first time since the club joined the NAHL. Captains for this years team are Nolan Craner and Ricardo Yesue while Ben Kitzmiller and Todd Rudasill will be alternate captains.
Game On, NAHL Style: The NAHL has put "touch icing" back into the rules for the first time in 4 years.
Veteran Players: Fourteen players from last years squad make up the 25-man roster, including forwards Todd Rudasill, Ricardo Yesue, Erik Peterson, Zach Barron, Drew Pierson, Taylor Doorlag, Justin Stadler and Nolan Craner; defensemen Ben Kitzmiller, Eric Roman, Chris Hendrickson, Chad Billins, and Korey O'Brien
Fresh Faces: Goaltenders Shawn Hunwick, Brandon Stephenson and Justin Marzean. Defensemen Brett Kaneshiro, Evan West, Logan Toohey. Forwards Marco Ruggeri, Ryan King, Jimmy McCusker, Austin Seiple, Kerry Bence and Tyler Coe.
Where Their From: 17 players are from the state of Michigan while 2 come from Head Coach Kenny Miller's home state of Ohio. 1 California, 2 St. Louis, 1 Philadelphia, 1 Alaska and 1 from Wisconsin.
For Starters: The IceDiggers opened the regular season at the NAHL Showcase with a record of 2-2. Alpena is currently 4 pts. behind first place USA and 2 pts. away from 2nd place Marquette.
Junior Experience: 17 Players on this years team has Junior hockey experience.
Where Are They Now: Ross Enmark (Curry College DIII), Steve Culbertson (Castleton State DIII) and Jeff Miller (St. Mary's DIII)
