
IceDiggers head south for two games

Alpena IceDiggers News Release
Alpena MI: The Alpena IceDiggers will make their only regular season trip to St. Louis this weekend for a two game set against the Bandits. The puck drops at 7:15PM both nights.
The IceDigger players enjoyed a few days off before hitting the ice yesterday for an on ice work out. Alpena's last game came on Saturday February the 2nd when the dropped a 3-1 decision to Traverse City.
"The guys had a few days to rest and relax now it is time to get back to work and get ready for a talented St. Louis club." said head coach Kenny Miller
St. Louis (36-8-1) swept the Texas Tornado in Frisco TX last weekend. The Bandits sit atop the North division standings while Alpena is third place in the tight division.
"This is a big test for us we are going on the road and playing the best team in the league this is a challenge we will be ready for." added Miller
The two teams met at the North division showcase in Boardman OH back in January with the IceDiggers winning the first game by a score of 6-2 Nick Graves picked up the win making 28 saves. Erik Peterson had a 1 goal and 2 assists in the win. In game two the IceDiggers lost 4-3 in a shoot-out. Once again Graves was stellar in net making 34 saves, former Bandit and current IceDiggers forward Bryan Ross scored a goal in the loss.

DIGGER NOTES:
Following the two game set in St. Louis Erik Peterson, Jimmy McCusker and Isaac Viau will head to Ann Arbor to play in the NAHL prospects event being held Sunday thru Sunday. Equipment manager Tate Precord has been selected to work the event as well.
