Sunday afternoon the North Stars (11-14-8 30 pts.) came to Northern Lights Arena to take on the IceDiggers and like the previous two meetings the two teams needed a shootout to determine a winner.
"The guys are playing well, they believe in one another and when teams start to believe anything can happen." said coach Kenny Miller "But at the same time we understand that it is a marathon not a sprint and we have to get better each day."
Alpena's Peterson who scored Alpena's first two goals of the game also scored the game winning goal in the shootout for a 4-3 victory for the home team.
Peterson added an assist to go along with his hat trick.
DeGrazia who had 2 assists in regulation play also scored in the shootout. Anderson scored a goal and assisted on another. Evan West and Jerrod Hartman each had a assist.
