St. John's IceCaps News Release

3 THINGS TO KNOW

All Stars Shine In St. John's: Forward Chris Terry and Goaltender Charlie Lindgren represented the IceCaps at the 2017 All-Star classic.

Positive Play: Forward Markus Eisenschmid leads the St. John's IceCaps in +/- this season, registering a plus five through 36 games.

Leaning on Lernout: Defencemen Brett Lernout has been solid on the blueline for the IceCaps. In his second season, Lernout has already tied his point totals from last year (12) in only 44 games and is a +4. His hard work earned him a third star honor last Sunday against the Albany Devils.

Friday, Jan. 27 TOR 5 vs STJ 3 RECAP Bobby Farnham opened the scoring just 1:31 into the game; however that would be St. John's only lead of the contest as the IceCaps couldn't catch the Toronto Marlies. Yannick Veilleux scored his third goal of the season in the second period to tie the game at two. Ryan Johnston found the back of the net in his first game back from Montreal in the third to once again square up the contest, but two late goals by Marlies sealed the IceCaps fate. Saturday, Jan. 28 TOR 4 vs STJ 0 RECAP St. John's could not muster any offence on Saturday afternoon as the club entered the All-Star break by dropping their second game in as many nights to Toronto. Yann Danis turned aside 40 shots in the loss. Charles Hudon led the way offensively for the IceCaps registering six shots on net.
