St. John's IceCaps News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY - The St. John's IceCaps picked up a point but were shaded 4-3 in overtime by the Binghamton Senators at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena on Wednesday night.
The IceCaps' David Broll (from Yannick Veilleux and Jonathan Racine) potted a goal just 4:42 into the first frame, but were answered just 24 seconds later with a tally from the Senators Guillaume Lepine.
St. John's took the lead once again with Chris Terry's tenth of the season. Mark Barberio and Sven Andrighetto picked up the helpers on Terry's go-ahead goal. Binghamton came back with two goals in the third to get their first lead of the game, but Andrighetto would respond with a blast past Binghamton netminder Matt O'Connor with just over six minutes left in regulation to send it to overtime.
The IceCaps went shot-less in the extra frame, and the Senators would eventually score on their fourth attempt to go home with two points. Charlie Lindgren stopped 37 shots for St. John's in the loss and a second-star performance.
IceCaps' Terry is now sporting a six-game point-streak(5G, 7A) picking up a goal and an assist.
The IceCaps take on the Utica Comets on Friday night (8:30PM) before heading to Rochester on Saturday night. Catch all the action on Twitter (@IceCapsAHL) and www.ahllive.com.
