December 11, 2002 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Indianapolis Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indianapolis Ice is thrilled to announce that Tone-Loc (aka Tony Loco, b. Anthony Terrell Smith) will be behind the mic for a post-game concert following the team's game on Saturday (12/28) against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 7:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.

Cold coolin' at a bar, and I'm lookin' for some action, But like Mick Jaggar said, "I can't get no satisfaction." (Verse from "Funky Cold Medina")

Known for his hoarse voice and unmistakable delivery, Tone-Loc has one of the most recognizable voices in hip-hop which brought him instant success with his 1989 debut album, Loc'd After Dark. The album, featuring hit songs "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" became only the second rap album ever to reach #1 on Billboard's album charts (Beastie Boy's Licensed to Ill was the first).

We was all alone and she said "Tone let me tell you one thing, I need $50 to make you holler I get paid to do the wild thing." (Verse from "Wild Thing")

The 36-year-old rapper was discovered by Delicious Vinyl Records owners Matt Dike and Mike Ross in the late '80's, who signed him for his unique, gravelly voice. Rapping wasn't Tone's only forte, as he also appeared several times on the Fox sitcom, Roc, and had roles in the films Posse and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which starred Jim Carrey.

In addition to the post-game concert, this year's Holiday Relief promotion will include discounted concession items, prize give-aways and one lucky fan will be selected to burn their credit card statement at center ice as the Ice retire their debt (up to $1,500).

Tickets are as low as $10 for the concert and Ice game and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayers and the Pepsi Coliseum and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices, or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
