A lack of intensity on the part of the Indianapolis Ice enabled the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs to escape the Indiana State Fairgrounds Pepsi Coliseum with a 3-1 victory over the Indianapolis Ice in Central Hockey League action Wednesday night. With the loss, Indianapolis dropped to 10-6-5 (25 points) on the season.

"This was one of our worst efforts in a long time," said Ice Head Coach Ken McRae. "Some of our guys were no shows tonight."

Bossier-Shreveport got on the board first as Jim Sprott scored at the 6:07 mark of the first period. The lead lasted less than four minutes before Kevin St. Jacques knotted the game at 1-1 with his team high eleventh goal of the season. Both teams tightened up defensively keeping the game all-tied-up until the Mudbugs pulled away in the third period.

Chris Brassard slipped the puck past Ice goaltender Shawn Silver at 7:29 and Dan Wildfong increased the Bossier-Shreveport to 3-1 at the 11:41 mark of the third period. The Mudbugs took 24 shots on Silver, while the Ice mustered just 21 shots against Bossier-Shreveport netminder Ken Carroll.

"We didn't work as hard as they did, there was a lack of intensity on our part from the opening face-off," said Ryan Aikia. "We have to get back to doing the little things and play like it is an honor to be on the ice."

Indianapolis has now lost two straight games after winning their previous six. The Ice had not lost a game in regulation at home since October 19. Still, the Ice is 8-2-4 at home and stay in second place within the Central Hockey League's Northern Division, eight points behind the Memphis Riverkings.

The Ice hit the road for an eight game road trip starting Friday night in Amarillo. Indianapolis not play again at home until Saturday December 28 when Bossier-Shreveport visits the State Fairgrounds Pepsi Coliseum.
