BORN IN THE USA: The Ice continued their winning ways with a 4-3 win over the Team USA U18 squad on Friday night. Daniil Tarasov (2G) and Tyler Pham (G, A) led the attack with two-point nights, while Christian Hilbrich netted the other Ice marker. Jon Gillies stopped 31 shots in net.
ELEVEN O'CLOCK TICK TOCK: With the win on Friday, the Ice is now 9-0-2 in their last 11 games which ties the franchise record for most consecutive games without a regulation loss. Indy has outscored their opponents 41-21 during the stretch and equaled the previous mark set by the 2008-09 Clark Cup champion team who went 10-0-1 from 10/10/08-11/8-/08. In addition, the Ice has won six straight games which is one shy of the all-time record for consecutive victories set previously in three different seasons.
DANIIL-SAN: Daniil Tarasov registered his team-leading sixth multiple goal game of the season on Friday which was also his franchise-best 13th for his Ice career. The second-year forward is tied for second in the USHL in both points (42) and goals (20).
PLAYER OVEN: Jon Gillies has won five straight in net and is 5-0-0 with a 1.58 GAA and a .946 SV% in those five starts...Gillies also remains first in the USHL in wins (18) and save percentage (.927)...Daniil Tarasov and Robert Polesello carry five-game point streaks into this weekend's action...Drew Smolcynski and Christian Hilbrich extended their point streaks to four and three games respectively on Friday...Ryan Obuchowski has an assist in seven of his last eight games....Sean Kuraly's five-game goal streak came to a close on Friday, but he still has eight goals in his last eight games...Tyler Pham registered his first two-point night with the Ice on Friday.
TEAM SIZZLE: The Ice is 15-3-4 against the Eastern Conference and 16-0-1 when leading after two periods...Indy is first in the USHL on the power play (30.6%) and second on the penalty kill (86.8%)... The Ice has won six straight at home.
ALUMNI CHATTER: Casey DeSmith (09-11) stopped 47 of 48 shots for UNH in two weekends wins over Providence and Dartmouth...Shane Berschbach (08-10) and Kevin Goumas (09-10) both handed out three assists for WMU and UNH respectively in weekend sweeps for both schools...T.J. Syner registered two goals for UMass in a 4-0 win over B.C.....John Parker (08-10) scored his first collegiate goal over the weekend for Maine.
