Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice look to seal their second Clark Cup Championship berth tonight as the team travels for game three against the defending Clark Cup Champion Dubuque Fighting Saints. Tonight's game is set for 8:35 pm Eastern. Game four, if necessary, would follow on Saturday (5/3) in Dubuque at 8:05 pm.
Indy holds a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals series after capturing a pair of home wins at Pan Am Pavilion last weekend. If needed, game five would return to the "Circle City" on Tuesday, May 6 at 7:05 pm from Pan Am Pavilion.
Dubuque struck first, but Indy hit back with four unanswered goals to take game one on Friday, 4-1. Jacob Pritchard and Brian Pinho both recorded a goal and an assist in the match while Denis Smirnov and Scott Conway also potted lamplighters in the contest. Jason Pawloski finished the night with 22 saves on 23 shots for the first of two weekend wins.
A late Saints goal in Saturday's game-two tilt made the match interesting, but the Ice held on to claim a 3-2 victory. Sam Kurker tallied a pair of goals while Smirnov buried his second marker in as many nights. Pawloski completed the weekend sweep with 26 saves on 28 shots on net.
A win on either tonight or Saturday would clinch Indy's berth in the Clark Cup Championship round. The winner of the Eastern Conference finals would faceoff against the winner of the Western Conference finals with the Waterloo Black Hawks currently holding a 2-0 series lead over the Sioux City Musketeers.
Tickets for the Clark Cup playoffs, presented by Ivy Tech, remain the same at $15 for reserved seating and $10 for standing room only and can be purchased on Ticketmaster or through the Indiana Ice office at (317) 925-4423.
