November 27, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Indiana Ice News Release

Contrary to popular opinion, the Indiana Ice were not suffering from Tryptophan poisoning through the first 50 minutes of their contest Wednesday evening against the visiting Youngstown Phantoms. Indy was sleepwalking through the matchup and trailing 3-1 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse before surging to even the score at 3-all in regulation and walked away with a 4-3 overtime victory.

Tyler Pham was credited with the game-winner when a puck went off his skate to make a winner of Jason Palwloski in net. Pham's goal came 1:02 into the overtime off a rebound of Timothy Shoup's shot from point blank range. Aidan Muir, who scored Indiana's first period goal, also was credited with an assist.

The victory improved the Ice' record to 9-2-2 over the past 13 games after starting the season with an 0-3-1 slate.

"I decided I had to join the offense from the blue line," commented Shoup, the 6'-0" rookie defenseman. "In the first two periods we did not have enough intensity.

The Dartmouth commit dented the net at 12:19 of the final stanza to cut the visitor's lead to 3-2. Shoup had plenty of open net after Tyler Andrew was pushed into Youngstown netminder Colin DeAugustine. Pham got his first point of the night with a helper on the momentum-changing goal.

Andrew tied it up at 16:09 when he put home a rebound of Austin Kosack's shot from the slot. Brian Pinho started the scoring sequence when he set up Kosack's blast.

"We were getting traffic in front of the net and I just buried it," Andrew described his 4th goal of the season.

Indy woke up and dominated the third period by outshooting the Phantoms 18-6 in the third period and 4-0 in the 1:02 of overtime play.

The teams matched first period scores with Aiden Muir's unassisted breakaway goal. Muir got behind the Youngstown defense and whistled a wrister by DeAugustine with three minutes left in the frame.

JJ Piccinich scored a pair of goals for the visitors in the second period---setting the stage for the Indiana comeback.

After a quick trip to Chicago Saturday, the Ice return to Bankers Life for a faceoff with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Sunday. The puck is set to drop at 6:05 pm following the 1:00 pm kickoff between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans at Lucas Oil Stadium. Fans who show up in their Colts' garb will receive half off a regular-priced single game ticket.
