The Winnipeg ICE are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Landon Young to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
Young, 16, from Edmonton, Alberta, was selected by the ICE in the eighth round, 173rd overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
The 5'8", 155 pound blue liner has six points (one goals and five assists) in 14 games this season with the Edmonton Junior Oilers in the Alberta Elite U18 Hockey League.
Last season, Young played 38 games with the MLAC U18 AAA hockey team registering 16 points (five goals and 11 assists).
The ICE are back in action tomorrow (Friday) in Saskatoon for their first meeting of the season against the Blades (6:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290 AM / 7:00 face off on WHL Live via CHL TV).
