Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice are proud to announce they have finalized a trade with the Wyoming Cavalry, which will bring 1st Team All-IFL Wide Receiver, Jasonus Tillery, and 2-Time IFL Champion Michael Eby to Colorado.
Tillery, coming off one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in IFL history, is expected to bring his experience and big play ability to the Ice offense. In his rookie season Tillery started 13 games, caught 84 passes for 1,051 yards and 27 touchdowns.
In his four games against the Ice last season Tillery had 28 receptions for 350 yards and six touchdowns; helping lead Wyoming's offense in each and every game. Not only was Tillery named to the All-IFL 1st Team he was also named Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Ice Head Coach Heron O'Neal commented on the signing of Tillery, "Trading for one of the best receivers in the league was a no brainer. Tillery plays smooth and no one man can stop him. He proved that all year by almost winning the Triple Crown. He is a standup guy who is hungry for a championship and shows our fans and the IFL we mean business."
Eby comes to the Ice defense with a great amount of experience winning games and playing at a high level. Eby was the starting safety for Coach O'Neal when they were winning championships with the Billings Outlaws.
In the 2012 season, Eby played a valuable part in the Wyoming defense, accumulating 68 tackles, six interceptions, and seven pass break-ups. He ranked first in interceptions and pass break-ups and second in tackles for the Wyoming defense. In his four games against the Ice, Eby recorded 23 tackles and three interceptions, helping lead the Wyoming defense in every game.
For his indoor football career, Eby has 254 tackles and 24 regular season interceptions, placing him third in interceptions in IFL history. Eby has consistently led his defense in tackles, interceptions, and pass break-ups as well as off field leadership in the community.
Coach O'Neal stated, "Adding Eby to the Ice roster will bring a heightened level of play and expectations to the Ice secondary. He is a great leader and one of the smartest players I have ever been around. His football IQ will help out his teammates and himself to be in the right spot to make plays. Eby knows the defense because he has won two championships playing in it."
The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played on Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado.
