Ice quartet named as USHL East All-Stars

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice will be well represented at the 2007 USHL Prospects/All-Star Game as forwards John Kemp and Garrett Roe, defenseman Mike Phillippi and goaltender Alex Kangas were all selected to be members of the East Division All-Star line-up. The annual event will be held this year on Tuesday, January 30th from Young Arena in Waterloo, IA.

Kemp, who leads the Ice in scoring, makes his first appearance in the annual game and he enters the mid-point of the season tied for fifth in the USHL in points (37) and tied for third in assists (30). Roe heads to his second straight All-Star appearance and is second on the Ice in goals (14) and ninth overall in the USHL in scoring with 35 points.

Phillippi has been of the Ice's main cornerstones on the Ice blue line as he leads all Indy defensemen in goals (4) and points (19) and ranks seventh among USHL defensemen in scoring. Kangas, who made the All-Star team last year with Sioux Falls, has been strong between the pipes with a 12-7-4 record, 2.89 GAA and a .909 save percentage.

The Ice return to action this Friday (1/19) and Saturday (1/20) with a home series against the Sioux City Musketeers at Pepsi Coliseum. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
