GAME ONE: STEEL 4, ICE 3

The visiting Steel used a late third period goal by Eric Alexander and a 35-save effort from goaltender Rob Madore to capture game one 4-3 last Thursday night from Pepsi Coliseum. The game was a seesaw affair until the game-winning tally by Alexander as the contest featured four lead changes and three ties. Indiana received markers from Jake Skjodt, John Carlson and Will MacDonald, while Chicago countered with goals from Tim Buttery, Luca Cunti and Aaron Schmit. Andrew Miller also handed out three assists. Both goaltenders made huge stops in the game as Madore (35 saves) and Scott Darling (27 saves) turned back 62 shots and faced 15 total power plays between them.

GAME TWO: ICE 7, STEEL 2

The Ice rallied from a 2-1 first period deficit to record six unanswered goals in route to a 7-2 victory Saturday night from Pepsi Coliseum. The line of John Kemp (3A), Jake Skjodt (G, 2A) and Paul Carey (G, 2A) led the offensive barrage with nine points as each player registered a three-point outing. Defensemen Ben Blood and Nick Bailen both compiled a goal and an assist and Locke Jillson, Robert Martini and Brent Gwidt chipped in with lamplighters of their own. Scott Darling played well between the pipes stopping 25 shots in the win. The Steel received goals from Andrew Miller and Brian O'Neill. Indy outshot Chicago 45-27 in the contest, including a 34-13 differential after the first two periods.
