
Ice Players Ranked for NHL Draft

INDIANAPOLIS-Tonight's matchup at Pepsi Coliseum has the feel of an NHL combine as the Indiana Ice hosts Team USA U18 at 7:05 pm. The contest will feature America's top-rated goaltender and many other top NHL prospects.
Goaltender Jon Gillies and forward Robbie Baillargeon made a statement in the NHL Draft news this as both players were listed in the top 50 for their respective positions in the 2012 NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings.
Gillies is ranked fourth among North American goaltenders and is the highest ranked, U.S.-born goaltender on the annual scouting database. Baillargeon ranked 43rd out of the 210 North American Skater and the tenth highest USHLer listed.
In his second season in the league, Gillies leads all USHL goaltenders in many categories including wins (17), saves (736) and SV% (.929). He also holds Ice franchise records for consecutive wins (10) and career shutouts (5).
Baillargeon has also had an impressive first year with the USHL. The freshman forward has already tallied 27 points (11G, 16A), including eight multiple point games and two contests of three or more points.
Team USA has 17 players on the scouting list, including defenseman Jacob Trouba, the top American-born player in the report.
Tonight's game is Family Night with the Ice, sponsored by RevolutionEYES. The first 100 people at the door can purchase $10 tickets for only $5. SpongeBob SquarePants and the Radio Disney Road Crew will also be on hand.
