Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team fall to the Tri-Cities Fever in overtime, 49-52.

With a home field advantage in playoffs depending on a win or a Wichita loss, the Ice were determined to start out strong and they did. Only 2 minutes into the first quarter RB, Tobias Robinson (#22) carried for a touchdown, followed by a PAT by kicker, Aric Goodman (#9). The Fever came back with a touchdown and a field goal shortly after, the Fever ended the quarter in the lead.

Goodman (#9) started the second quarter with a 23 yard field goal to put the Ice within one point of the Fever who scored minutes later. QB, Jeremy Sanders (#8), carried for a touchdown to put the Ice ahead of the Fever however this was short lived after the Fever came back with another touchdown. Robinson (#22) scored his second of the game to keep the Ice in the game. Sanders (#8) threw a bomb to WR, Mark Henderson (#4), for a touchdown and a completed 2 point conversion by WR, James Walton (#6), allowed the Ice to lead, 32-29 going into halftime.

The Ice allowed a Fever touchdown slip by to begin the third quarter but a 54 yard field goal by Goodman (#9) tied the game, 35-35. Both teams' defenses were equally determined to keep the other team from scoring and the game remained tied going into the final quarter.

WR, Duane Brooks (#2), didn't wait long to score and within 7 seconds of the start of the fourth quarter the Ice stole the lead. After allowing the Fever to score 2 touchdowns, Henderson (#4) once again tied the game with less than 2 minutes left. The Ice defense shut the Fever offense down on their next possession and the game was sent into overtime.

The Ice were unable to hold the Fever off and a Fever field goal left the Ice with a disappointing loss to a hard fought battle.

WR, Mark Henderson (#4), was named Runza Player of the Week for his 2 touchdown performance.

The Colorado Ice will be on the road next week to take on the Sioux Falls Storm in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This game marks the last regular season game in 2012, the playoff schedule is soon to be determined.
