Ice lose to Muskegon
February 1, 2014 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Indiana Ice News Release
The goals had "Indiana" written all over them, but unfortunately the boys in white only put up a single tally in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks from L.C. Walker Arena.
Dwyer Tschantz put Indy on top almost five minutes into the contest with his thirteenth goal of the season and his second in as many games. Chris Martenet and Denis Smirnov provided the assists on the lone marker.
All remaining goals tied back to the "Hoosier State," though, as Granger, IN-native Scott Pooley would answer with a pair of lamplighters for the Lumberjacks in the second and third periods to put the hosts up 2-1 with six minutes left in the contest.
The Ice continually put pressure on Muskegon netminder Jordan Uhelski with 40 targets, including 19 in the second period alone.
Indy heads to Iowa for a Friday-night contest with Cedar Rapids RoughRiders before returning to the friendly confines of Bankers Life Fieldhouse for "Scout Night" on Saturday, February 8 against the Youngstown Phantoms.
