UIF to Hold All-Star Classic

United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce it will hold its first All-Star Classic August 16-18 in Bloomington, IL. The Aug. 18 All-Star Classic game will feature the top UIF players from the Eastern Conference against the Western Conference at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

UIF Executive Director & Commissioner, Dakota Crow, is excited about the event. "This will be a great opportunity for our coaches, players and the league overall to showcase our level of talent and professionalism." The UIF has become the premier developmental league and has sent several players to the Arena Football League, Canadian Football League and the NFL.

Leading up to the game will be several days of events for players and fans. Crow says the fans and players deserve a showcase game at the end of the year. "We hope fans join us in Bloomington for several days of festivities," he added. Bloomington, now in its second year, consistently brings great crowds. At their most recent home game (May 19) the Extreme drew 6,387-the largest UIF crowd of the season and second in franchise history only to their inaugural game when they sold out the 6,700 seat U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Bloomington Extreme majority owner Ed Brady and U.S. Cellular Coliseum general manager Mike Nelson credit the fans for the UIF's selection of the All-Star Classic. "It's a great thing for U.S. Cellular Coliseum, the city of Bloomington and the Bloomington Extreme," said Brady. "It shows what league officials think of the caliber of our facility and management teams we have in our organization. We are looking forward to the opportunity."

Extreme general manager Jerry McBurney says the organization is honored to host the All-Star Classic. "Bloomington will be in the spotlight as all 11 teams in the league will converge on our city."

Players for the All-Star Classic will be chosen by coaches, the media and fan voting. Fans receiving the weekly UIF Newsletter will be eligible to vote. To receive the newsletter, register on-line at www.unitedindoorfootball.com/league/newsletter.
