HOCKEY SPLIT: The Ice earned a pair of points on the weekend as the team split contests with the Youngstown Phantoms and the Western Conference-leading Omaha Lancers. Jason Pawloski stopped 20 of 21 shots and Jason Salvaggio, Joshua Jacobs and Jacob Pritchard found the back of the net as the Ice netted a 3-1 victory Friday night over Youngstown from the Covelli Centre. The Lancers scored three unanswered third period goals to edge Indy 3-2 Saturday night from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Scott Conway and Tyler Pham recorded lamplighters in the tilt while Pawloski made 20 saves between the pipes.

FOR OLE GLORY: Ice defenseman Joshua Jacobs and Equipment Manager Darrin Flinchem will be taking a brief hiatus from the Indy bench as both were selected to represent the United States at the World Jr. A Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia from November 4-10. This will be Jacobs' first trip to this challenge while Flinchem has been selected all seven years the United States has participated in the event, earning four gold medals in the process.

SHOT CHART: The Ice has outshot their opponent in seven of eight games this season and are tied for fourth in the league in shots for/game (32.88). In addition, Indy has held their foes to just 25.25 shots against/game which is tops in the USHL.

CONWAY TWITTY: After missing the score sheet in his first two games with Indy, forward Scott Conway has begun to pick up steam as the first-year forward has five points (3G, 2A) in his last six games while riding a three-game point streak. The Kissimmee, FL native joined the Ice after being selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2013 USHL Entry Draft and currently sits in a tie for second on the team in points (5) and goals (3).

BIG "PAWS": Jason Pawloski has deserved a better fate in net the last couple of weeks as the first-year goaltender has gone 1-1-1 with a 1.52 GAA and a .934 save percentage in his last three appearances between the pipes. Pawloski was the 13th overall pick in the 2013 USHL Entry Draft after spending last season with the Austin Bruins (NAHL).

PLAYER MENU: Jacob Pritchard has four goals in his last five games....Patrick Newell has five points (G, 4A) in his last six games...Michael Preston is fourth in the USHL in penalty minutes (27)..,.Vince Pedrie and Matt Roy were sidelined last weekend with injuries.

TEAM DIRECTORIES: The Ice is 0-14 at home on the power play...All of Indy's losses have been by two goals or less...Both Indiana wins have come when leading after the first period...Indy is 0-2-1 at home and 2-2-1 on the road...The Ice face undefeated Dubuque (6-0-0) on Saturday....Indy is 2-2-2 against the Eastern Conference and 0-2-0 against the Western Conference.

ALUMNI CHATTER: Blake Coleman (09-11) recorded a hat trick on Saturday as top-ranked Miami defeated North Dakota 6-2...Shane Berschbach registered four points (3G, A) in a three-point weekend for Western Michigan against Alaska and Alaska-Anchorage...Drew Smolcynski (11-13) and Woody Hudson (11-13) combined for three goals for St. Lawrence in a weekend split with Ferris State...Kevin Goumas (09-10) and Robbie Baillargeon (11-13) posted three-point weekends for New Hampshire and Boston University respectively.
