Ice Home For Two This Weekend

FIVE STATES, THREE DAYS: The Ice played three games in three days in leg two of their seven-game road trip and went 1-2-0 over the weekend giving them a 3-3-0 mark with Thursday's game in Youngtown, OH remaining.

12/3 at SXF- The Ice fell behind 5-0 to Sioux Falls, but rallied back with four consecutive power play goals, before falling to the Stampede 6-4. Antti Roppo (2G, A) and Nick Bailen (3A) led the Ice with three points apiece.

12/4 at DES- Des Moines scored the game's first four goals, but the Ice could not mount a comeback this night. Alex Wideman scored Indiana's lone tally.

12/5 at OMA- The Ice responded with arguably their best road contest of the season defeating the USHL's top team, the Omaha Lancers 4-2. Max Cook led the attack with a pair of goals, while Nic Dowd and John Parker also lit the lamp. Cab Morris was the winner in net with 20 saves.

MULTIPLICITY: With two goals in Saturday's win at Omaha, forward Max Cook has five multiple goal games for his Ice career which is just two off the all-time best mark of seven set by Garrett Roe-St. Cloud (2004-07) and Mike Cichy-North Dakota (2008-09). Forwards Shane Berschbach and Antti Roppo are also within range as the two wingers have four career multiple goal games with the Ice.

BLUE LINE HELPERS: In the three road games over the weekend, eight of the team's 15 assists came from defensemen. Nick Bailen led the blue line patrol with three helpers in Thursday's game at Sioux Falls, while Justin Agosta and Billy Fitzgerald handed out a pair of "apples" in Saturday's win at Omaha. Alexander Kuqali also had an assist on the weekend in Friday's game at Des Moines.

TEAM CHATTER: The Ice has played seven more road games (14) than home games (7)...Cab Morris is first in the USHL in GAA (2.13) and tied for first in save percentage (.919)....Indy is first on the road on the penalty kill (86.1%) and second overall (85.1%)...Shane Berschbach has at least a point in four of his last five games...Kevin Goumas has three assists in his last two outings.

ALUMNI SALUTE: Alumni goaltenders posted eight wins on the weekend led by two-wins apiece by Scott Darling-Maine (2007-08) and Jay Clark-Army (2005-06)...Justin Milo-Vermont (2005-06) registered four assists last week...Cameron Schilling-Miami (2007-08) had three assists on Saturday and Cody Reichard-Miami (2005-07) compiled a 1-0 shutout on Friday in Miami's two-game sweep of Notre Dame.
