Ice Head to "Fall Classic" This Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice travels to Iowa this weekend for the "Fall Classic" and will play games Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Tyson Event Center and IBP Ice Center in Sioux City, IA.
The "Fall Classic" is an annual USHL preseason tournament showcasing all 16 USHL teams who play for three days in front of over 200 collegiate and professional scouts.
Awaiting the Ice this weekend are the Des Moines Buccaneers, Waterloo Black Hawks and Sioux Falls Stampede. Indiana starts the weekend with a 3 pm match-up Thursday against the "Bucs" and will play the Black Hawks at 11 am on Friday. The Ice concludes the weekend set with an 11 am battle Saturday morning against the Stampede.
The Ice went 1-0-1 this past weekend in preseason action against the Muskegon Lumberjacks from Carmel Ice Skadium. Veteran forward Alex Wideman led Indy offensively with a five-point weekend (3G, 2A), while goaltenders Casey DeSmith and Jon Gillies were both sharp in net.
The regular season begins on October 2nd when the Ice buses north to Muskegon, MI for a date with the expansion Lumberjacks. The home opener will take place on Saturday, October 9th as Indiana will battle Sioux Falls at 7:05 pm from Pepsi Coliseum.
Tickets for the home opener are available now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000, online at ticketmaster.com or by visiting select Wal-Mart and Simon Mall locations, the Pepsi Coliseum or Conseco Fieldhouse box offices. Individual game ticket prices range from $10-$20 and there is a $2 discount for children 10 and under and seniors 62 and over.
