North Iowa Outlaws News Release

(Fairbanks, AK) The North Iowa Outlaws were unsuccessful, in their third attempt to post their first-ever regular season victory. A veteran Fairbanks squad spotted the Outlaws a one-goal lead, before coming back to post a 5-2 win over at the Big Dipper Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The game included some highlights for the Outlaws. For the third straight game, North Iowa scored first. Defenseman Nick Condon (Wausau, WI) netted his first goal in an Outlaws' uniform at 14:06 of the opening canto, on assists from Chris Mackay (Missouri City, TX) and Alex Tuckerman (Orleans, MA). Fairbanks then scored twice to gain the lead, before Pat Dynan (Maple Plain, MN) found the back of the net, with his team-leading fourth goal of the year, which was assisted by Casey Dion (Colorado Springs, CO). Dynan has scored in each of the Outlaws three regular season games. North Iowa peppered 44 shots on goal in the contest, but were stymied by Fairbanks goalie Bryce Christianson, who made 42 saves, to earn number one star honors. Five different players scored for the Ice Dogs, including Matthias Iberer, who buried his fourth goal in three games. Matt Cleveland (West Allis, WI) was busy in the nets for the Outlaws, making 43 saves.

The win keeps the Ice Dogs' record unblemished, at 3-0. The Outlaws now stand at 0-3. The two teams will play again Saturday evening in Fairbanks. Game time is 10:30 PM Central time, with radio coverage on Eagle Country, KY102.7 FM in the North Iowa/Southern Minnesota region. Audio of the radio broadcast can also be heard on the Outlaws' web site, www.northiowaoutlaws.com.
