Ice Bolsters Forward Position with Morin

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that the team has signed right winger Etienne Morin (AYE-tee-en Mo-rahn) and released forward Marc Suderman. Morin, who will wear #28, is expected to be in the line-up tonight when the Ice hosts the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:00 p.m. from Conseco Fieldhouse.

Morin, 23, began this season with the Greenville Grrrowl of the East Coast Hockey League where he notched an assist and four penalty minutes in four games of action.

He makes his full season professional debut this year after a four-year run with the Colgate University Raiders (ECAC NCAA-I). He was team captain last season and compiled 11 points (5G, 6A), two power play goals and 20 penalty minutes in 34 games of work. He got a brief taste of the pro game towards the end of last season as he saw action in two games with the New Mexico Scorpions (CHL).

In his four years at Colgate, the 6-0, 185-pound winger collected 62 points (31G, 31A), 15 power play goals and 104 penalty minutes in 138 games. He was also teammates for three seasons with current Anaheim Might Ducks standout, Andy McDonald.

After tonight's tilt with Oklahoma City, the Ice heads south for two games in the Lone Star State. The Ice plays the Fort Worth Brahmas at 8:35 p.m. on Saturday night and the Austin IceBats at 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The team returns home next weekend for a pair of games at the Pepsi Coliseum. Indy will host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and the Wichita Thunder Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.
