September 8, 2015 - Southern League (SL1)
Jackson Generals News Release

Jackson, Tenn. - The season is over, but the Jackson Generals got some good news on Tuesday as Ian Miller was named Player of the Week in the Southern League for the period from August 31 to September 7. Miller is the second General in a row to win the honor and the fourth this season, following Tyler Bortnick, Jabari Blash and Tyler Smith.

Miller finished the season with a flourish, recording a hit in all six games he played in. Overall, he went 13-for-28 (.464) with three doubles, a triple and five RBIs. He had two or more hits in five of his six contests last week, including back-to-back three-hit efforts in Chattanooga Friday and Saturday.

The Downingtown, Pennsylvania native helped Jackson win in the team's season finale Monday with a game-tying RBI double in the third inning. He also swiped four bases over the course of the week. He finished the season with 29 steals over just 87 Southern League games, placing him fourth overall in the circuit. Between Jackson and Bakersfield, he stole a combined 50 bags in 68 attempts in 2015.

This marks the first weekly honor for Ian Miller in his career, and the fourth for Jackson this season. Generals have won the award in consecutive weeks twice in 2015, with Miller following Tyler Bortnick after Tyler Smith and Jabari received the accolade in back-to-back weeks in May.

Miller finished the season with a .267 average, 18 doubles and seven triples over 126 games between Jackson and Bakersfield. The outfielder was coming of a season in which he was limited to just 45 games due to injury.

The Jackson Generals would like to thank all of the team's fans in West Tennessee and throughout the country for their support throughout the season. The team outdrew last season's attendance on average (2,173) and in total (136, 918) despite four more rainouts in 2015.
