Huskies Top Wisconsin 7-3
July 11, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Duluth Huskies News Release
The Duluth Huskies (5-6) put another mark in the win column Saturday night as they beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 7-3 at Wade Stadium.
The Huskies had chances early in the game but failed to convert. The home team left six men on base through the first three innings including leaving the bases loaded in the first inning. The Woodchucks would be the first team to put a mark on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning as Albee Weiss hit an RBI double to score Ty Black. The run would be Huskies starting pitcher Eric Morell's only blemish on a solid outing. Morell would end the game with the win while pitching six innings and striking out four.
The Huskies would finally break through in the bottom of the 6th inning. Jimmy Heck took advantage of having the bases loaded and ripped a 2-RBI double to score Holden Cammack and Danny Lee. Dominic Miroglio would follow suit and score Cal Stevenson and Jimmy Heck on a base knock. The team would continue their scoring ways as they scored two more runs in the 7th inning and one more in the 8th.
The Huskies will be back at Wade Stadium tomorrow, July 12th, at 5:05 to finish their series with the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
