
Hurtis Chinn Named 2022 Assistant Coach of the Year

The Tucson Sugar Skull averaged finished the regular season averaging 47.8 points per game. That is good for third in the league and was orchestrated by Offensive Coordinator, Hurtis Chinn. Chinn has been named the 2022 IFL Assistant Coach of the Year.
Chinn has a long, impressive history in indoor football. Chinn spent six seasons with the Nebraska Danger, the final year as head coach. Under his guidance, the Danger appeared in three IFL Championship games over his six seasons with the team. In 2018, Chinn was a member of the IFL Champion Iowa Barnstormers, as the team's assistant head coach and wide receiver's coach. In 2019, Chinn joined the staff of then expansion team, the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Prior to beginning his coaching career, Chinn played five years in the IFL for the River City Rage and the Danger, after playing college football at Western New Mexico University.
