Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
Lethbridge, AB - It was another southern Alberta classic as the Hurricanes battled the Tigers to a 1-0 overtime win on Friday night from the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge. Dwight King had a highlight reel goal just seconds into the extra frame to give the Canes their first 3-0 start since the 2003-2004 season while Juha Metsola recorded his second shutout in as many games to bring his career regular season total to five. The Canes would then go on to split the home and home series, suffering a 6-3 loss to the Tabbies on the following night in Medicine Hat. The Canes now prepare for a trio of games this week, highlighted by their first meeting with the Calgary Hitmen since the 2008 WHL Eastern Championship series. The Canes will then round out the week at home was they play host to the Kelowna Rockets and their old rivals from "Speedy Creek" the Swift Current Broncos.

- Forward Zach Boychuk remains at Carolina Hurricanes training camp as the Carolina camp roster was cut down to 33 over the weekend.
