
Hurricanes Lose to Storm

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club suffered a loss to the Island Storm 100-101 in NBL Canada action April 29th, at the Eastlink Centre. The Hurricanes have clinched the number one seed in the Atlantic Conference and will hold a home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Storm led the Hurricanes at the end of the first quarter 18-22. In the second quarter the Island Storm outscored the Hurricanes 24-27, and the Storm lead 42-49 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes and Storm were even at 26-26. The Hurricanes outscored the Storm 32-26 in the final quarter but it wasn't enough as the Storm prevailed; The final score of the game was 100-101.
Guard, Justin Johnson scored 17 led the Hurricanes with 17 points. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 16 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Guard, Cameron Bennerman scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Guard, Brandon Bowdry scored 10 points.
Guard, Terry Thomas led all scorers with 27 points. Forward, Tirrell Baines scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Guard, Alex DeRoches scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Guard, Morgan Lewis scored 11 points. Guard, Al Stewart scored 10 points and had 6 assists.
Halifax Hurricanes will face the Saint John Mill Rats in their last regular season game in New Brunswick. Hurricanes will open playoff action at home May 5th & 6th.
