
Hurricanes Defeat Storm on Easter Sunday Matchup

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action on March 27th, Easter Sunday, at the Scotiabank Centre against the visiting Island Storm. The hurricanes defeated the Storm 104-84. The Hurricanes now have a record of 20-8, leading in the Atlantic Division and #1 in the league
Storm led the Hurricanes at the end of the first quarter 22-24. In the second quarter the Storm outscored the Hurricanes 18-23, and the Hurricanes trailed 40-47 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Storm 33-20. The Hurricanes outscored the Storm 31-17 in the final quarter and the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 104-84.
Guard, Justin Johnson led all scorers with 24 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 18 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 16 points for the Hurricanes. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales scored 11 points.
Forward, Tirrell Baines scored 20 points for the Storm. Guard, Terry Thomas scored 17 points. Guard, Malcom Grant scored 15 points. Forward, Brent Jennings scored 11 points.
The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm tomorrow evening, March 28th, at the Eastlink Centre in PEI.
