
Hurricanes Defeat Orangeville A's in Overtime

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Orangeville A's 126-121 in NBL Canada action March 18th at Athlete Institute. This win makes it four in a row for the Hurricanes, the Hurricanes now have a record of 18-7, and stay at #1 in the NBL standings.
Hurricanes led the Orangeville A's at the end of the first quarter, 28-24. In the second quarter the A's outscored the Hurricanes 23-26, the Hurricanes lead 51-50 at halftime. In the third quarter the Hurricanes outscored the A's 32-29. The A's outscored the Hurricanes 25-29 in the final quarter and forced Overtime. In overtime the Hurricanes outscored the A's 18-13, the final score of the game was 126-121.
Guard, Shane Gibson led all scorers with 42 points - shooting 10/16 from the 3-point line. Forward, Mike Glover scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 19 points. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 14 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 11 points. Guard, Clifford Clinkscales scored 10 points and had 16 assists.
Guard, Dominic Cheeks led the A's in scoring with 29. Forward, Richard Amardi scored 24 points. Forward, Justin Moss led all scorers with 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Guard, Louis Munks scored 13 points. Forward, Flenard Whitfield scored 11 points. Forward, Tyrone Watson scored 11 points. Guard, Da'Quan Brooks scored 10 points and had 15 assists.
The Hurricanes will play tomorrow evening against London Lightning in the last game of the Ontario road trip.
