Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Moncton Miracles 97-91 in NBLC action April 21st, at the Moncton Coliseum. The Hurricanes are on a four game winning streak, and with this win the Hurricanes are 26-9 leading the league in most games won.
Hurricanes led the Miracles at the end of the first quarter 29-14. In the second quarter the Miracles outscored the Hurricanes 23-32, but the Hurricanes lead 52-46 at halftime. In the third quarter the Miracles outscored the Hurricanes 24-28. The Hurricanes outscored the Miracles 21-17 in the final quarter and the Hurricanes prevailed; The final score of the game was 97-91.
Guard, Joel Friesen led the Hurricanes with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 18 points. Forward, Billy White scored 17 points. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 11 points. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales scored 9 points and had 8 assists.
Center, Will Creekmore led the Miracles in scoring with 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Guard, Dexter Strickland scored 17 points. Forward, Cordell Jeanty scored 13 points. Forward, Mike Martin scored 11 points.
This win marks the fourth win in a row for the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm on Saturday, April 23rd at the Eastlink Centre. The Hurricanes will face the Windsor Express at home on Sunday at 2:00pm, in their last home game of the season.
