Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action March 24th at the Scotiabank Centre against the Saint John Mill Rats. The Hurricanes defeated the Mill Rats 127-93. The Hurricanes now have a record of 19-8, leading the Atlantic Conference and the league in wins. With this loss the Mill Rats have a record of 18-12 and are in second place in the Atlantic Division.

Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 30-22 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 30-17, and at halftime the Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 60-39. The Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 29-22 in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 127-93 to earn the victory over the Mill Rats.

Guard, Justin Johnson led the Hurricanes with 31 points. Forward, Kyle Hunt scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 15 points. Forward, Mike Glover scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Hurricanes. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 15 points. Forward, Billy White scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Guard, Doug Herring Jr led the Mill Rats with 17 points. Forward, Gabe Freeman scored 15 points. Guard, Jabs Newby scored 12 points. Guard, Chris Smith scored 11 points. Forward, Garrius Holloman scored 10 points.

The Hurricanes will face the Island Storm on March 27th, 2:00pm at the Scotiabank Centre.
