
Hurricanes Defeat Mill Rats in Game 1 of Atlantic Conference Finals

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club defeated the Saint John Mill Rats 130-86 in game one of the Atlantic Conference Championships, at the Scotiabank Centre. Hurricanes lead the 7 game series, 1-0.
Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 44-18 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 28-17, and the Hurricanes lead 72-35 at halftime. In the third quarter the Mill Rats outscored the Hurricanes 23-24. The Hurricanes outscored the Storm 35-27 in the final quarter, enough to earn a strong victory in game one; The final score of the game was 130-86.
Guard, Justin Johnson led all scorers with 22 points and 8 asissts. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 20 points while making 6/8 three pointers. Forward, Kevin Loiselle scored 17 points. Forward, Billy White scored 17 points. Guard, Brandon Bowdry scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Forward, Mike Glover scored 14 points. Forward, Renaldo Dixon scored 12 points. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales led the team with 15 assists.
Forward, Keith Gayden led the Mill Rats with 18 points. Guard, Anthony Anderson scored 16 points. Forward, Garrius Holloman scored 16 points for the Mill Rats.
Halifax Hurricanes lead 1-0 in the series and will play game two, tomorrow at the Scotiabank Centre at 4pm.
