
Hurricanes Defeat Lightning in Game 2 of NBL Canada Finals

Halifax, (NS) - Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action Friday June 3rd at the Scotiabank Centre for Game 2 of NBL Canada Finals against the London Lightning. Hurricanes defeated the Lightning 133-119.
Hurricanes led after the first quarter 36-35, in the second quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 30-28. In the third quarter the Hurricanes extended the lead to six, outscoring London 33-30, and in the final quarter the Hurricanes outscored the Lightning 34-26; enough to earn the 133-119 victory.
Guard, Joel Friesen led all scorers with 28 points and 5 rebounds - and hit 7/10 from the three point line. Guard, Shane Gibson scored 24 points - making 6/10 three pointers. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 23 points. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 17 points coming off the bench. Guard, Cliff Clinkscales scored 14 points and had 9 assists. Forward, Mike Glover scored 12 points.
Forward, Garret Williamson scored 23 points for the Lightning. Guard, Akeem Scott scored 20 points. Forward, Ryan Anderson scored 15 points. Forward, Stephen Maxwell scored 15 points. Guard, Ed Horton scored 14 points. Guard, Nick Okorie scored 10 points in the Game 2 loss.
Hurricanes will travel to London for Games 3, 4 and 5.
