Hurricanes Beat Island Storm at Scotiabank Centre for Fourth Win in a Row

HALIFAX, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes couldn't have hoped to close a game better than they did on Saturday night in front nearly 2,000 fans at the Scotiabank Centre.

A 40-point fourth quarter led the Halifax squad to a 114-94 win over the Island Storm to cement their first place spot in the National Basketball League of Canada's Atlantic Division.

Rhamel Brown turned in a monster double-double off the bench. He finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and three assists.

Antoine Mason and Billy White led the Hurricane's scoring effort with 20 points each and Tyrone Watson turned in another strong performance with 17 points and seven assists.

Saturday's game was sponsored by Crombie Reit .

The Hurricanes next game is at home on Thursday, Jan. 18 against the Saint John Riptide. It will be the first meeting of the two teams this season.
