The Halifax Hurricanes won their second game in less than 24 hours on Sunday afternoon, beating the visiting Cape Breton Highlanders 118-111 at Scotiabank Centre.

Fresh off their comeback victory against the Riptide on Saturday night in Saint John, the Hurricanes played a close, back-and-forth game against their Nova Scotia rivals.

The Hurricanes battled the Highlanders through numerous lead changes and an offensive onslaught from Highlander's shooting guard Bruce Massey Jr, who scored a game-high 45 points.

The Hurricanes managed to pull ahead in the fourth quarter thanks to clutch three-point shooting from Ta'Quan Zimmerman who finished with 15 points.

Billy White put up a big double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Antoine Mason and Mike Poole had team highs in scoring with 21 points each. Mason added seven assists and five rebounds to his numbers as well.

Sunday was the C.A.F / DND Appreciation game. The Hurricanes would like to thank all those who participated, particularly the Stadacona Band, who performed O' Canada prior to the game and to all the military families who were in attendance. Sunday's game sponsor was Kent.

On Tuesday, March 27 the Hurricanes will host a make-up game against the Moncton Magic at 7 p.m. at the Scotiabank Centre. All tickets for the original March 22 date will be valid, but if you don't have a ticket, you can yours at the box office or online.
