NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Club's Tucker Hume will be returning to his professional roots this weekend when his current team visits Ottawa Fury FC on Saturday afternoon at TD Place in Ontario, Canada.

Hume spent his rookie pro season with Fury FC, straight out of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. The 6 foot 5 inch forward was a role player as a rookie for Ottawa, but contributed three goals and three assists, including one game-winning goal in a 5-3 home win against Richmond Kickers.

Last July, Nashville SC made its lone trip to Canada, visiting Hume's old home stomping grounds at TD Place.

"Last year going back to Ottawa, it was nice to see old faces at the club and it was a weird feeling playing where I had played so many games and lived for a period of time," said Hume leading up to another matchup against the Fury. "I am excited to go back. There are still some teammates there that I played with, and I am excited to go back and see them. It'll be nice to be back in that area."

Some of those teammates include defenders Onua Obasi and Thomas Meilleur-Giguere, who Hume might go head-to-head against on Saturday. Ottawa was one of the better defenses in the USL Championship last season, allowing 43 goals in 34 games.

"They are very compact when they defend, and they have really good players as well," said Hume. "They are tall and fast. They work a lot defensively, and last year they proved that. I expect the same thing this year."

Hume and Nashville SC will kickoff at TD Place at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The game can be seen on ESPN+ digitally.
